I was talking about standalones, not suv flipdowns.
u didnt make it clear enough.

Umm....I dont want to sound like a prick.....but Alpine (other than the headunit monitors) doesnt make 7" monitors. Just for your knowledge.
if u reread that, it clearly states "alpine doesnt make 7" monitors." the part about flipdowns are no where in there. but u did make clear of the in dash units.

just wanted to clear any misunderstandings up, in case someone in this forum read this and thought that alpine did not make a 7" period(other than the in dash units).

PM MelinaMadness. He has a very clean and simple sub set up in his trunk
Just a guess, but I don't think John is wanting a "simple" setup. Considering what I know of him and his setup, he's not going to want it to be like everyone else's.

Your pretty much correct Skip Yes, I wanted it to be VERY different, but unfortunately the way things worked out it will be slightly toned down. I really wanted to use the 2-8in sub's but like I said before they just wouldn't work right the way we wanted to use them. I also decided to go with a more "useable" trunk area so that changed things big time. The components however, were the best that I could afford. Having great sound was the first goal on my list. Everything else was second.

The sub inclosure is out at the body shop being painted along with a few other pices. Everything should be back tomorrow so they can assemble everything and get her back to me this week....I really cant wait to see what this will look like all finished....It's been almost three weeks

Ok, I picked her up this afternoon. Again, it's not the wild glassed out trunk I had orginally wanted, but it definately is what I needed! Which means I still have trunk space!

Here's the final list of what went in:
Sub: Alumapro Alchemy MX-12
Amp's: JL Audio 500/1 and 300/4 Bridged
CAP: Alumapro C.A.P-15
Front speakers: DynAudio 240 MK-II's
KCA420I Alpine Ipod Interface, Dual Optima Battery's and some really nifty battery terminals with built in digital volt guage

Here's the results.....

Stupid question here....but why the (2) monitors in the trunk lid? Secondly, with the angle they are at....are you suppose to tilt your head while watching from the back.....

Or is this just bling bling effect here?

I must be gettig too old for this stuff not to make any sense for me

Of course it's just for some added "Bling" , however while they are mounted on an angle they are also raised up inside that panel, you can see them quite clearly and you dont have to duck down either
