I recently installed the defi advance zd unit into my 01 ap1.
I have the display,sensors, hand controller and control unit all hooked up and working fine but I don't know much about wiring/electrical stuff so I went to an auto electrician about wiring up the speedo/tacho to the display.
He informed me that it's a very difficult job and that it may not even work as the pulses for the defi/original digital dash might be different etc and the labor involved to remove the entire dash to take the cluster out to find the wire would be too much ($400ish AUD).
Straight away this didn't seem right as I know removing the cluster surround literally take 15mins. I have a feeling maybe he didn't know what he was talking about and just wanted to make it seem like a massive job etc
Like I said I'm not really electrical savvy so i don't really understand much of what he was saying except it won't work.
I've been looking at speed pulse stuff today and found there's a wire behind the removable dash compartment on the passenger side so hopefully that might fix the problem.

Looking for anyone who has installed one on a s2k before to help. How did you wire it? What else did you do? etc
Hoping someone has done it and can tell me it will work and what to do basically and I'm stressing heaps now that my new gauge unit that I've bought won't work
