Does 02 stock CD player plays mp3?

I heard they upgraded the 2002 stock stereo.
Does anyone have more info?
Does it play mp3 by any chance?

No.

Upgrades - added the seperate tweeter high in the door. Increase in power.

Haven't heard one, but I'm guessing it's a POS just like the 2000/2001 version.

swap it w/ an aftermarket---the factory sound isn't that good considering it is a convertible. Unless you are not into replacing your stereo. My opinion is if it had the factory NAV like the JDM and a "Bose" system, then I wouldn't touch it. The Bose setup would be a step up on good factory sound.
