Does the Alpine "Type R" fit in the door?

Ok I'm going to jump in here to help you out.
Those will fit no problem. You'll need to cut the back out of the stock speaker basket or make and MDF one but they fit fine. I have a set of Alpine SPX-177a in my doors that fit just fine with no metal cutting at all. I custom fit my tweeters in but you don't even have to do that.

Mine fit great with Lucid's S2000 Door Speaker Adapter Kit /extra depth kit...
