Default Door speaker recommendation

I will be upgrading my audio here in the near future and don't really want to give up any room in the trunk for now at least. So I will be installing a new HU and components for the front for now so want I am looking for are a set of components that provide great sound preferrably more on the bass side. I will be powering this with an amp.

Has anyone ever successfully installed a sub in the cabin of the car.

I was trying to do the same thing, save trunk space and have a decent sound quality. It all depends on budget, but here is my setup:
For HU I used JVC KD-SH1000
Components: Focal K2P 165 (UV)
Amp: Audison LRx 4.5

I made a doors sound deadening with Demplifier Pro, also made a brackets for the speakers because the magnet is really big in Focals. Amplifier is installed in the trunk vertically on the other side from spare tire.
Focal's midbass likes small space behind, so i'm planning to add DynoXrob in the back of the speaker. Also, I'm going to cover the door with SecondSkin overkill.

Those Focals are amazing and with proper amp tuned up and good HU the sound will be awsome. The only problem with them is a titanium TN51 tweeter which is really bright. I used crossover with -4dB setting and also tuned the equalizer in the HU and it is fine. I believe that Sub could add more deep bass but for my tastes it is ok as it is right now and I think it is because of nicely tuned up system and high quality components.

All that said I would recommend Focals K2P series.

If your budget is able to afford the highend Components such as the JL ZR650-CSi or the Focal K2P 165, let me know. I have them up for sale in the members for sale forum. The K2P has the upgraded TN52 tweeters.

Sorry for mistype TN52 it is. I just wanted to say that they are titanium and accordingly will reproduce all the gaps of the record/sound channel.

Has anyone installed "Butt Kickers"?
I have a pair but have never installed them.
For those who don't know, these are tactile and produce no sound on their own. Apply to the bottom of each seat and get your butt kicked to the beat of the music.
Since much bass is more apt to be felt than heard, this might be a great way to go and the price is also right.

I have been looking at 6.5 subs. I will need to more research on these. JL makes them focal makes 5 inch and CDT Audio makes them. I may look into trying a really good set of components and see if I can add a couple of these in the cabin somwhere.

if you poke around the install pictures and/or do some searches, you'll
find a few in-cabin subs -
a couple replacing the rear console, a JL 6W0 under the driver's side dash,
and at least one passenger footwell sub (I think it was Modifry)...
