Default Dual Hook up for Navigation Sound to speakers?

Ok how would i do this with an external navigation unit? like a garmin? I know you can do AUX but i want to do a dual hook up. I would like the navi sound to kick in only when it say something while im listening to like the radio/cds. Like the navi sound override the radio and then goes back to the radio when the navi is done talking. is this even possible? I know that the new civic navigation has this and thought it was pretty cool.

My Garmin (765T) can be used as a media player as well, and can be connected either directly or via a radio link up to a head unit. I believe the music can be interrupted for the instructions. Good for occasional use but admittedly not something I'd want to use all the time.
