Default easiest and best aftermarket stereo

i want to upgrade my stereo and still utilize the dashboard control. i have already upgraded my door speakers and added rear speakers. i want to purchase a unit that will provide more power and better sound than the factory unit. i have a 2000my with a 2002my headunit. what system should i purchase that will fit the opening and not require any modification. the cover should also be able to close. thanks for your input.

Buy an Alpine in your price range -- it's the safest, most versatile route to go. Check out www.discountjungle.net. They have great prices on Alpine HU's.

but just becasue we are Alpine geeks, doesn't mean you have to be. There are many good headunits out there. just be sure to get one that has a high wattage rating.

I prefer Eclipse and that's what I have in my S. Alpine is still, IMO, the best answer to the question. Especially in the lower price ranges there is no competition for the best buy in every price category.

Yeah I know... I actually had some tool offer me $200 bucks for it! I was like yeah ok buddy thanks for insulting me... for that kind of money I'll just screw the thing to my wall.

I'd give you a deal on it Bill but you sound like your board closet is full for now...

it doesn't snow much here in Florida, but i do get to go out west a few times a year.. so two boards is more than enough.

BACK ON TOPIC: Go to WAL-Mart or Discount Auto parts and find the cheapest headunit you can find, I like "spark-o-matic." Laugh heartily at the wattage rating. Shop online, spend a few extra bucks and try to find a true high wattage rating on a decent HU. Alpine is good for this. High end pioneer HUs are nice, Eclipse HUs are nice. Don't buy Awia, or spark-o-matic, or funky pups.
