Default Eclipse HU's

Been lookin all over but can never find any place that sells eclipse headunits online. Anyone know of any places. Also, I'm planning to run either JL audio or Infiniti speakers, subs and amps. Anyone tell me which is better?? With JL i'd go with the XR series components and either a W6 or W7 10" sub with matching amps. Infiniti i would go Kappa Perfect components and 10" Perfect sub. Having a hard time deciding which to go with, all i know for sure is the headunit i want.

Keep in mind unless you have some specific reason for wanting only one brand you are going to be artificially limiting yourself to fewer choices by insisting on having your components, sub, and amp all from the same manufacturer. Infinity Kappa Perfect components are highly recommended and the 10" Kappa Perfect sub is good as well, but there are better amp options out there. The same principle applies to JL - they have good (though expensive) subs but their amps are probably overly pricy. Just make sure you don't limit yourself unnecessarily.

eclipse only sells/istalls through authorized dealers, and the few dealers i've come across that sell them have said that getting authorized is not easy. have to have been established/installing for a while, thus new shops can't pick em up easily.

they are kind of like alpine was before they started honoring warranties with crutchfield purchases, but even harder to find.

Ok, i guess that means i'll be paying full price for my eclipse HU up here afterall.
As for infiniti, i should have worded that differently. With infiniti i only am interested in their Subs and Speakers. I know there amps aren't that good. I don't really know what kind of amps are good to run. The only downfall to infiniti for me is that the high end models (kappa perfect line) is not available. JL on the other hand, i hear good things about everything. The W7 line seems to be very good quality and the XR speakers seem extremely good as well. I do not have alot of knowledge on what makes an amp good and what makes one better than others, i just hear that JL is very high quality. Also, being located up in Winnipeg, Canada there doesn't seem to be as many brands available. Alot of brands i hear you guys talking about i have never heard about before.

Do not install everything from one company. No one company specialized in everything. (Unless you are sponsored, and everything is free)

Eclipse being only at dealers is a great thing. That means they can guarantee the install and offer a three year warranty on the headunit, including against theft. If they let people install their own HUs they couldn't trust that the anti-theft network would be installed correctly.

Eclipse has premium sound and for the privledge you will pay a slight premium. IMO, it's well worth it. Which deck were you considering?

^ I agree. I would like some of my products to be more exclusive. This way, the company can deal with you in a better manner, and not just another punk kid who's got a pep boys card.
