Default Sub or No Sub

So i'm planning on upgrading the sound system in my ap2 and was initially gonna add a sub in the footwell. Now i'm wondering if I can get the bass I need from the components (Hybrid Audio Unity). I've read that the HATS imagines which are the model before the unitys provide some good bass. Just wanted some feedback on those people running components with an aftermarket headunit and amp. How's the bass with this setup?

Planned system:
Headunit: Kenwood x996
Components: Hybrid Audio Unity
Amp: Arc audio ks 125.4

I personally needed the extra bass. I play a lot of old school rock and the bass tends to lack in those songs. The sub definitely helped balance things out. With newer music(dubstep for example), the sub gives that extra oomph that Im looking for too.

The easiest way to go about it is buy your component set up and have an amp that has an extra channel to give you the option of adding in the sub at a later time.

a 6.5" speaker can never reproduce low fq along with midrange sounds, a sub will alway sound better...

I'm in this dilemma as well. I'm going to wait until I get some nice components and see if a sub is required. I've always run subs in all my cars.

I was never a fan of subs - until I had one installed in my car. Never looked back!

Definately worth doing if you enjoy your music.
