Default Electric Gurus Needed

Ok, so heres the deal. I have an 05 with stock cd player, but it has the optional headrest speakers installed along with XM. Now heres whats happening and its TOTALLY sporadic. Ill be driving and the radio and auxiliary port where i plug my radar detector will just shut off? If you look at the cd player the red light is blinking, like the car is turned off the the doors are locked. What I want to know is where to start looking for the short? Their has to be a place to narrow it down to since the short is only killing power to the cd player and radar detector thats plugged into the armrest port. I didnt know if maybe the optional headrest speakers could cause a short where they're wired in? Or maybe something with the XM? any suggestions or where to start looking would be very very much appreciated!

the thing that makes me think its not a fuse is the fact the the light blinks on the cd player when it turns off? so it will stop playing, but the red light blinks like the car is off? I was guessing that it has to be a short somewhere in between the radio and outlet, since only those two things turn off?

There are two circuits that feed the radio. One of them is the same circuit as the auxillary power outlet. That is why the radio still blinks as that is powered by the other circuit. Your problem is in the circuit that also feeds the power outlet.

Sounds like your memory power circuit is still good (constant 12v), but the aux power circuit is bad.

Mine did something similar, it would not turn on with ign everytime. I had a post about it a while back and no one responded. There are 2 relays under the dash. I think its the one closer to you, not the fire wall. Next time it happens reach under the driver side dash and flick it with your finger. If it comes back on, its that. I saw one more post about a guy who had the same problem. I bought a new relay from Honda and it hasnt happened again.
