The 8" L7 can withstand over 1000 watts though (undocumented), that's the beauty of kicker subs. I can't wait to see what this thing does, although I'm not going with them personally.

 

since we were talking about similiar subs, i noticed that audiobahn has some flat cone type woofers out there. they even have a high excursion 8 (but no xmax listed). prices are cheaper, but they're rep is spotty compared with ED.

i think the web-site is now wrong. it was supposed to go up to the regular price of $180-185 two weeks ago. You can try calling/ordering at the $165 (pre-order) price, but it was supposed to go up by now. Can't hurt to try

Last I heard, they're supposed to be shipped "any" day now.

still, looking at their site for the 'store', they are still showing a $165 price... acting now might be a good idea if you're interested in one...
