Default Entered IASCA with my S

I thought a few users might be intrested in how my S did in Grand Prix level Sound Off. I had been told before i stated the install that the S2000 was the worng car for SQ competiton, well.....

In my first IASCA comp at the weekend with my S2000 GT i was in the Rookie 0-601 class and came third and got the BEST SQ scores in the Rookie class, and only got beaten due to a few stupid install points i messed up and a bad RTA score (EQ'ed by ear).
A lot of people told me I could not get a Good sound stage, imaging and Tonal Accuracy in a S2000 due to the centre tunnel and the tight boot/trunk... well i did and with no 'expert' help.
And YES with the hood down at 90mph I can hear the system clear loud and WITH SOUND STAGE and NO headreat speakers in sight..
BTW I lost out to second by less than a point (219.6 to 220!) and both 2nd and 1st were 'paided' for installs... next time i'll do better

My system

RF/Denon 8250ti
RF EPX2 28 band EQ and Active crossover
RF 200x2
RF 240x4
JL W7 10"
Focal K2Power 6.5 mids,
RF FNQ4401X
IXOS Matrix RCA's.

Very nice man, very nice! I'm with you when you were talking about sound stage and imaging. Two of the most important things in a GOOD audio system. Glad you made it happen. Got any pics of the sub install? I'm curious to see where you put the beast. Also, how's the bass reproduction with the top down?

congrats!!

have we seen pics of this install? (i don't recall them...)

also, i don't think there are too many arguments about the S not being an SQ car... most comments are that the S isn't the best SPL car...

Got a few pics here:
small gallery

Simple install with the focus being on safety and sound reproduction.. if is dont sound good what the point of having a bling bling install ?

I can post some install shots if anyone intrested.
Few things to note:
The Custom Battery tray was made for a Optima Red top to fit.
A whole bulk pack of Dynamat Extreme went in the boot/trunk and doors.
The fuse/distribution block is hand tooled (by me as is everything) from 18mm perspex block and strip fuses.
The Sub box is 2lt OVER size for the W710", Which help remove the Boomyness, as well as the over size in the box there is another secret SQ trick that went in its construction, Oh and its made for GRP and Alloy and a bit of MDF.
Most of the work has gone in the EQ and gain set up of the system. There EPX2 controler (RDAT) is on a trick under dash mount but i dont have pics of that on my machine at the moment (will follow)

On the IASCAS you can see i only got 10 for the RTA, once i have a pre set in the EPX2 than i should be seeing a 29/30 which will put me 3 points clear on the class winners total this weekend

Is the panel on the floor of the trunk carpeted? It looks really 'soft'. Why did you make you're own dis. block?

also -- why make the custom battery mount for a Red Top when they are making a Yellow Top sized exactly for the S?

all in all -- quite nice. the Denon deck has a very sharp look to it. kudos on very uber sweet HU.

those are almost 100% impossible to get in the states as i understand it...

also - while a dumb question - did you SQ demo top up or down?

FYI on that HU:

my hand is hovering over Add to Cart. how many HU's do you find w/ a coaxial digital in?? balanced stereo outputs? and w/ dual 20 bit DAC's?!

Yes that is uber plush carpet on the base the whole boot was planed to be redone in nickel coated carbon fibre but i ran out of time before the start of the season, Now i think i will end up in hand stitched Black Leather with a MUZ boot lid with bags to match.

Why my own dis .. well IXOS let me down and the Extra points for detail, how made people have you heard of that have made there own?

I'm in the UK and we cant get the thin yellow top your talking about yet also i already had the red top spare AND when i go up from rookie i'll get extra points for the custom tray.

The system is NOT about looks its about SOUND that all i care about in this install, it to have a S2000 do well in IASCA which i think i'll do this year as i HOPE to win the UK Rookie with it.
The Car is a GT with Hard top ON for testing.

My 8250 was bought from Sounddomain as they have almost all of them. The story of the unit in a nut shell:
RF have Denon make 10,000 A1Ns (before 24 BIT DAC) and badge them Rockford Fosgate 8250 (they also have some lesser units made with no aux in and only 1 BIT DAC's this is the 8240)
The Units dont sell in Japan, i mean no surprize there being sold for like $2000 !! and if you want a unit for that money why not buy a Denon with DENON on it !
RF ship 8,000 unit to the US and make chages to the tuner to suit the US market.
Sounddomain buy almost the lot for about $150 each !!
RF do sell a few on ebay for $165.
SD sell the at first for
