Well, I took a trip down to WPB this weekend (roughly 2:30/3hrs), and toward the end of the drive, my X50 beeped and the screen said service required... this isn't the first time, and I thought it was due to the FL sun beating on it at first... Just wondering if anyone else has had an issue with them... It works great, but this has me kinda irked....

 

mine did that a while ago (around New Years)... when it did it the 2nd time, i called Escort.

they had me send it in, and i had it back in a matter of a few business days.

when i was on the phone w/ them though, they asked me a few questions to make sure it wasn't something environmental causing the issue.

haven't had problems since then.

for people who are wondering - they were concerned on whether the unit had run at abnormally high or low voltages and/or at extreme temperatures, or had a swing from a very low to a very high temp.

in my case, none of these were the case.


my repair report came back w/ 'antenna replaced, software updated, unit recalibrated....'

 

did they need any paperwork from you or proof of purchase?

i hope they do this sort of 'update' for the regular 8500 too.

 

i had to provide a proof of purchase (receipt) from an authorized dealer. a copy of this receipt was good enough.

'SBHCorp' who sold a ton of them here was just fine. when i told the lady that i had purchased it over the internet, she specifically said that ebay dealers are not authorized.
