i found this one at crutchfield.com. any californian drivers own this thing??manufacturer claims the detector is invisible to radar detector detectors. price is $1099.

No radar detector is worth $1100. Sorry but you would have to get several tickets to justify spending the cash and by then you probably wont have a license anyways.

It's not just a radar detector. It is a laser shifter (jammer) also, which was found to be almost 100% effective. However, the chances of getting hit by laser is very slim. Not a lot of departments are using them.
