Default factory sound processor

Anyone have any experience with factory sound processors? I was flipping through the latest Crutchfield catalog and came across it. Apparently, it cleans up your factory headunit's output, sending the clean signal to an amp. This allows you to retain your factory headunit and build a system around it.

Thoughts? Opinions? I want to retain my factory headunit.

Thanks,
-Brian.

the oem headunit is a complete waste of time. A simple headunit upgrade makes a world of difference in the s2000. Just buy the modfry dash control adaptor so you can use your dash controls with your new radio

I'm using an Audiocontrol DQL-8 with my stock head unit. It feeds 2 Kicker amps an L7 12 and Polk Momos in the doors. It also gives me iPod input. No need to interface after market radio controls to my dash controls. Looks stock and no one wants a stock deck so I feel a little safer. I wouldn't go any other way. I prefer the Audiocontrol product. I have heard of some problems with the Rockford 3Sixty's.

lol seriously, doesn't take a genius to figure that out. I just received that new crutchfield also and they carry JL now. You be better off with a new HU, at 300-600 dollars you can get one of the best HU in the market. They look much better than stock, with mp3 capability and much more.

Those processors are much more important when the factory unit is odd shaped or highly integrated into the dash or the vehicle electronics.

In the case of the S2000.....I agree with everyone elses comments. Spend the coin on the Head Unit and Dash controls.

Don't waste your time. You may as well blow on an oil rig fire.
