Finally finished my amp/sub install..

Took me... way to long to install but it sounds great. I placed the amp where the tool kit would normally go and I just threw all the tools into the spare tirewell allowing me to keep the spare. I also removed the tray that holds the roof to allow more bass to vent into the cabin. And it works GREAT!

And if you're thinking about the amp ventilation, that is not an issue as there are two fans built into the side of the amp. One for intake and one for ventilation and it appears to be working fine right now as I have not noticed any power loss after many hours of thumping the bass.
Douglas,
A word of warning, you shouldn't cover cooling fins. Check the temperature using the hand thermometer. If it is too hot to touch, then you could have problems later on caused by overheating.

I have checked, the amp is within the normal operating range. It's an 800 watt, 600 watts rms, amp that is powering just that one sub so I believe the most current draw from the sub would be around 500 watts or less. I do not have the gain turned up very high, nowhere near the maximum output of this amp. This keeps the amp running cool.
The only time that amp got hot was when I had it pushing a 12" sub in my Si with the gains turned up near maximum. But the MTX demands far less than the JL sub that I had.
