Default Focal 165

I have read alot about these speakers, the V and the K2P. I have listened to both side by side against other speakers and they are superior in sound. Does anyone know if the Focal 165V Slim speaker sounds the same? Would the slim speaker fit better in my 2005 S? The top mounting depth is 2 1/16". I will be matching these speakers with a Kenwood Excelon w/ rear mounting USB port and a Boston Acoustics 250W Amp (45RMS X 2).

The slim will probably fit better; and require less work. The slim will not sound the same, they will lack some midbass. This is from my experience with shall/slim line speakers.

That's what I was thinking, but I was hoping for someone who actually had the Focal Slims to reply. I don't think many people use them, I posted on two different boards and searched the internet for reviews and have come up with only your one reply. Thanks for your input. Maybe my lack of findings on these speakers are a sign that they are not too good. I would love to keep my stock grates and install my new speakers in the door, but if I have to go with the Focal 165V and modify my door panels for good sound quality, I will.

You'll be able to install up to a 3/4" baffle without modification to the door panel is still get a pretty deep speaker in there. I'm putting a 76mm speaker in next weekend (Seas ER18RNX), I'll let you know how it goes.

how much power are you going to run on the SEAS?

Have you thought about running the nextel mids instead?
