Default Front components, tweeter placement, and soundstage...

I'm contemplating doing an install in my 2001.

Since I don't have door panels with tweeters, how is the soundstage with the tweeters mounted at the base of the windsheild pillars? I'm leaning towards Focal 6.5" components but I've read the tweeters are very bright. Any other brands that are better suited? There aren't any stereo shops around here anymore so I'm limited to pretty much online orders. I've heard good things about Rainbow too.

I'd like to stick a JL 10TW3 in the footwell and possibly power everything with a JL XD500/3.

Thoughts? Ideas? I'd like to keep it around $750 for the components. Any other sound processing I should look at?

The Image Dynamics XS65 is another option for 6.5" components I'm looking at too, a shop two hours away sells ID equipment.

Running Pioneer A-Series Components 6 1/2 mid and 1" tweeter for $70 shipped off amazon. Taking 70 watts respectivelty like a champ from a 2 channel amp. These tweeters really sing. Focal $$$$ vs Pioneer $$? Both have great quality sound. Im just a Pioneer guy though
