I'm installing the Elipse 8952 in the rear. An installer told me he recommends getting fronts from the same manufacturer, since the frequency response are very different between different manufacturers. In particular, I was thinking about getting the Infinity reference for the front. I'm only using the rear as fill so I'm powering it with just the HU, I'll be using an amp for the fronts. Any advice?

 

Although ideally, he is correct....youll simply never notice....especially without an amp. Humans cannot detect the difference between a couple of Hz....not regular humans, so Phil, calm down.

Youll be fine. Spend more money on the fronts than the rears. If you want to stick to the same brand...get the best available model for the fronts, and the mid line for the rears.
