Default Is this a good amp for my setup?

So right now I currently have Alpine 9857 powering Alpine Type-r components. I believe the components are the older model with RMS power rating at 70-80 RMS. The new ones I believe are 100 RMS. Will the Alpine MRP-F240 be adequate enough to power these components? Here is what the amp looks like with specs on ebay:

I really don't have plans for a subwoofer down the road unless I can fit one in place of the tool well, I can't lose any more space in the trunk since I use the car alot already. Please let me know what you think.

Hey John,

Did you play to bridge it an run 100w to the speakers or just run 40?

40 will be plenty for volume at top-down, but if you are crazy about blowing blood out of your ears like some people are it might not be enough.

I personally have my amp tuned to run about 40/45w to my door speakers and it's more than enough.

Sup Mike,

Thanks for the input. I guess I can always try out 40W and see the difference. Lets say I wanted to bridge it, which will be 100W, the speakers aren't rated that high, but there's a way to reduce that correct?

Yes, when you tune the amp you can set it to put out whatever wattage you desire. Just need test tone's and a multi-meter for that.

Plenty of people from NES2KO including myself would have no problem helping you out with that
