The Alpine amp is good. I run a less powerful Alpine amp with a 9847 and its clear and loud enough for me top down. Don't know about the speakers, but that's more personal pref, and ppl here like them. Fwiw, I went with Polk Momo 6500's because they offer good highs and excellent mid bass if I don't have a sub in my car.

I went with the 345's big brother.



The Kappa's can easily handle what the 345 puts out.
Remember these amps put out higher power figures than the rated power. See below in my amps case.

NO! First of all, the 545 is larger amp that might fry the Kappa's. They are rated (per your post) at 100WRMS. That ALpine puts out 125 RATED, but 172.9 ACTUAL. That is overpowing the Kappa's by almost 75%. I have heard of people overpowering by up to 50%, but not 75% without something giving. Not to mention, it will probably void the warranty on the speakers.

John your right, I did not even check what speakers he was going with. Actually I never did recommend he go with the 545, i just mentioned I got it.
