Default Audio tuning help

So yesterday I replaced my stock HU with this new sony. I listen to mostly heavy metal/rock music and i've noticed since installing th new HU in some songs I can't hear some vocals or guitar that I know is there. Its getting really annoying, i've played with all the features including the LOW/MID/ and HIGH settings and I can't get the missing parts of the songs to come back. I have an 01' that does not have tweeters. If I get some good tweeters will that solve my problems? This is the HU. Thanks for any help.

Did you hear it before with your stock unit?

Anything is possible, hehe. What do you mean by out of phase?

Out of phase meaning you did pos/gnd and gnd/pos on the pair. This will cause them to vibrate out of phase and cancel out various frequencies. Or the D/A converter on your new unit isn't working so well?

oh oh, no its definatly not out of phase, I payed close attention to the chasers on the wires so I would not do that.
