Default gotta question

yeah i was installing my alpine 9883 head unit, i bought the harness soldered the wires together...didn't rap them in eletrical tape....went to put the unit in the car i pluged the harness in and it worked. THen i stuffed all the wires in, none rapped wiht eletrical tape....and then when i went to turn it on it wouldn't. I took it out to see if there was a connection error. and i saw sparks between the power wires and the ground wires for the unit. Now it all wont work neither the new unit nor the stock unit. and the engine make wierry noise when i turn the acc on. Does anybody have an idea what i did and how i can kfx it...

oo yeah i checked the fuse on the head unit, the ass, outlet and they were both fine

I have a hard time believing this.

You know enough on how to solder but you forgot the most critical piece?!?

I think your HU is toast btw and isn't worth to try to fix it as it may and probably will blow as you comprimised the whole unit by leaving bare wires out.

EJ Darwin award anyone?

Yeah, wrap everything up, and check your fuses for the radio and accessory.

Make sure and try and short the wires onto the SRS box that's right underneath...
