i have a "rigged" ap2 headlight conversion on my MY00. the passanger side headlight had been blinking for a couple months now and last night it went out. i pulled the headlight and found that i had worn through the ground wire for the ballast. i solder(sp?) it, put it back together and it still wont work. i had spair bulbs, so i tried them thinking that maybe by chance the bulb went out as well. no luck. then i tried listening to see if the passenger side ballast made a noise like usual when i turned the headlights on. the hum usually last 5 second or so but this time it only lasted a second and never turned on. has anyone experienced this or have an opinion on what it might be? bad ballast?

got any advice?.. should you not solder a ground wire?

 

I don't see that being a problem as I have done it before.
