Handling power of SVC-1810
Hey-
I have 2 Rockford Fosgatte SVC-1810 Punch 10" subs. They are approximately 5 years old. They are 8 ohm. I cannot seem to find the RMS / Max power stats on these subs anywhere. I have tried this forum, google, and ask.com. Still nothing.
Does anyone know what the capabilities are? I am looking to get an amp that is 340W RMS, and I really don't want to overpower and blow the speakers.
If it is any help, I bought them from Best Buy, and they were like around $80-100 each. I don't know if anyone has/had these same speakers or works with Fosgatte.
thanks
John

RFS - 1810
RFP - 1810
RFR - 1810
Thats everything I found that had 1810 in the model number from fosgate. I was bored at work so I went ahead and e-mail Rockford fosgate about where I can find specs and also if that was a valid model number. I couldn't find anything about it either.

last time i looked, RF had an extensive back catalog of user manuals on their website...
you might try looking there...
(*edit*)
hrm, taking a look at their site, they've seriously revamped their support system.... it's definitely different from how it was in the past. the good news is that a lot of stuff looks to be easier to find. the bad news, i can't find that sub... before, i'm sure i could have.

I dont think that the SVC was part of the model number. The SVC just indicates a Single Voice Coil. I talked to the ding bats over at best buy and they told me that they cant look that far back. I also emailed Rockford Fosgate. The guys at BB said the RMS was most likely around 200 and the max power around 400, as these were old speakers and any speaker made 5 years ago with power handling higher than that would be more expensive than what I paid ($100-120ish each). I cant get an actual price, because I had a friend @ Best Buy who got them for me @$69 each with his discount.
I think I am going to go safe and just get the Alpine MRV-350. It's rated @ 200W RMS @ 4-ohms. This seems similar to what I was originally running. They guy also said 200W on a pair of Fosgate 10's in a Bandpass box will more than suffice.
If I get this amp, what size wiring should I run from the battery and for the ground? 8g or 4g?
thanks

Assuming its going in the S2000 I'd go with an 8G. This gauge is more than enough to carry the wattage/amps across an S2000's length. 4G if you wanna be showy i guess.
Check your amp, those alpines usually have pre-defined wire sizes that will fit into it. The 4G may not even be an option for ya.

That was originally going into a 1989 Ford Thunderbird. I decided to go with another amp, as the Alpine is not enough power. I am going with the Pioneer GM-5100T (380WRMS). I am using 4G for this application.
I am also installing an Infinity 7520a in the S2000 (283WRMS), and I am using 8G for this amp.

Its gonna be nice....by buddy is going to custom fab an aluminum amp rack that will mount vertical on the left rear wall of the trunk (to the left of the spare). People are going to open the trunk, see the OEM looking false floor and a BIG amp sitting there...they are going to be like "
"
Next, after the HU, S-pods, sub, amp comes the updated components for the front. Looking for Infinity 6000 series (not amping, so need good response). I am going to copy someone else's install on this site. Put the tweets UNDER the bottom of the A-pillar, drill the A-pillar to create grill.
Is there a way to get the S-pods to run in mono? Kinda like original Dolby surround.
