Unhappy Hardtop wiring

Before I start please do NOT tell me to order a kit. I want to make this work unless there is just no way but that wouldnt make any sense. THX

I recently removed my soft top frame and all.. I want to use the wiring from the soft top to power the hard top defroster.. I can get power to the wires (2) from car but I do not know which one is which in the hard top. Does anybody know why the hard top has 3 wires and most all defrosters have one or two?? Does anybody know what colored wires I should use with the two from the car..

Any help is apprecitated..

Has anybody tryed this?

the switch is in two diffrent locations to wire your "defroster". Plus, i think your defroster wiring has a relay to prevent "burning" your glass, your softtop doesnt. All in all, if you want to possibly start a fire i suggest "order a kit".

Hmmm I would say that it should be doable, you need to jump in to the "under the hood" forum to ask for someone with a wiring diagram to look it up. Stratocaster is always helpful with that stuff.

The diagram should be in the helms with all pinouts you need.

You could easily determine what's what with a multimeter

A good investment anyway for different things.
