Well I am guessing that I just can't tap into that wire or something. I tapped into the white and blue wire going into the dome light connector. And put the ground into the other wire going in. It powers it just fine except it only gives the radar detector power when the key is out of the ignition. As soon as I put the key in it shuts the radar detector off. Is that power source not good I guess? Should I have tapped into the wiring in the dome light assembly and not the wires going into the plug?

 

Nervermind. I think the ground was no good for it. So just made a new ground and is all good now.

 

its sometimes a little tricky due to the dome lights are also triggered by the door triggers. but good job finding a solution in less than an hour.
