Talking Hardwiring Radar Detector...

Well, since I can't take the radar detector cord running through my cockpit anymore, I am wanting to hardwire it to the fuse box...

Anyone done this? Any tips/advice...

In my Si, Sound Advice did it for me... I had it run up the A-pillar, and clipped to my visor... Very clean and stealth...

I would like to either do this in the S, or just mount it on the dash up against the A-pillar...

I stripped out the wiring from sound advice's install and was a little miffed...

They had run some bare wire around the old cigarette-lighter plug for the ground(sides), and ran another piece of wire around the male end of the lighter plug (top).... They then wrapped it up tightly in electrical tape.... and connected this to an unused male spade in the fuse box... Grounding it to the chassis...
This seemed kinda "ghetto" to me... Or is this how some do it?

Any ideas/how-to's...

Thanks in advance...

It's pretty easy in our car. There's a nicely illustrated "how to" somewhere on the site, which is what I used when I did mine. I can't find it, but this one seems to do the job.
