Default Having trouble with Alpine H/U in my ap1, pics for gurus

hey folks, I finally got round to putting in my alpine H/U. I've got the honda wiring harness and connected to the blocks. Now this alpine unit isnt new so its harness has been spliced a few times over. I've connected everything up the way I'nm sure it should be (done it in many cars before) but the unit will not even turn on. Heres a pic of the harnesses connected up and it would be great if anybody could point out any glaring mistakes. Cheers.

As you can see I've labelled the the plug that connects to the car and the plug that connects to the Alpine H/U. The Red power cable, the black earth cable and the blue (remote?) are also connected up. The only two wires that are not connected are the yellow memory 12v and the orange wire which I believe is for the backlight?

Any input would be great!

I believe the yellow wire serves not just as memory backup but as the main
power supply for the headunit, while the red serves as an ignition-on signal.
If connecting your yellow wire doesn't do it, check the two relevant fuses in the
underdash fuse box - #9 and #22, at least in a US AP1.

Brilliant, thanks for that. I was under the wrong impression that the yellow was just ignition. I'll give it a go.

yup yellow should go direct to the battery (thats why it has a fuse inline) im not 100% but i think alpine recommends a 10 or 12awg wire for that, i could be totally wrong tho, but it never hurts to go a size bigger on the power wire
