I'm glad my Hitachi rear projector came with 2 HDMI DVI inputs. How much do those Logitech remotes go for?

[QUOTE=vtec9,May 18 2006, 12:20 PM] blue ray and HD-dvd are completely different formats and are not compatible.

usace, I'm FF2Skip on avsforum.com as well.

As for PS3, with initial sales supposed to start Nov 17 here in the US, but not having nearly enough to satisfy intial wants, it'll be February before enough folks will have players to make a dent in the BD movie title sales. This is why I think BD will not champion. Either way, I'll be gettinga PS3 at such a time as I do not have to camp out for three days.

Looks like I might have to pick up an upscale universal remote, too.

i've lurked over at avsforum.com some... honestly, my home theatre / stereo habit got so expensive, i had to quit buying new gear just for the sake of upgrading. i've sorta backed down a bit, and only buy new gear when there are technology changes substantial enough to merit the upgrade. if it weren't for the format war and the DRM... i'd be all about HD-DVD and a nice big HD plasma.

the Logitech 880 is quite impressive. i had a programable remote that came w/ my receiver that i'd been using for some years. the button labels finally wore off, so when i had a chance to get an 880 for just over $100, i bit.

my wife was pretty used to the old one and she was initially resistant to the change, but she now loves the 880.

generally, the 880 runs for $250 on the retail market. if you lurk on some of the deals forums, you can often find them for 1/2 price or less. however, when they do hit that price, you need to be 100% ready to jump since they don't last long. i grabbed mine for $105 or so, and could have cashed in on a $50 mail in rebate, but the rebate was marginal so i didn't even bother.
