Headrest Speakers
wichita,
Do you mean the Lucid rear speakers ? I have it in my S.
You can cut the rear panels by yourself, or buy the rear panels from Lucid and put your choice of speakers on the panels then running the speaker wires to your HU or amplifier's outputs. Some uses 5 1/4" coax, others have components.
If you like to add rear speakers, then it should be used as rear filled only and the main sounds should come from your front speakers.

I have never heard the S-pods, but I highly recommend the Lucid speakers. I had them in my S2000 for two years and they sound great coupled with the stock speakers and stock HU. For the price you can't beat them.
Install is super easy if you buy the wiring harness. The HU comes out very easily and you can run the wires under the center console directly into the panel area where the speakers will be. There's no need to take out the seats.

Speakers behind the seats are much better than none at all, but are muffled. In direct comparison tests S-Pods sound much better. (Ask my customers who have upgraded. I'm not trying to hard sell you here.)
Take a look at the S-Pods at: www.streetsmarttechnologies.net and decide on the looks/cost yourself. Most think they look more like an OEM product than actual OEM. Install time can be measured in minutes...not hours.
Funny how people who have never heard S-Pods can make assumptions about sound. Opinions from my customers speak volumes, speculation from people who haven't even heard them is worthless.
