heated mirrors mod
my quest to add the defrost switch to my AP1 has taken me from searching S2ki to asking you guys for help because there is no current information.
funnily, i'm not interested in adding the switch for a hardtop defroster, but for heated side mirrors UK part number here. All because my side mirror was cracked (b/c i was reversing too fast and i think i hit a rock; will post picture later)
ANYWAYS, from reading the UK site, it's been confirmed by their moderator here that the swtich to operate heated side mirrors is connected to the centre console defrost switch.
edit: i just found the MY00-01 hardtop defroster switch on this thread
I will ask the OP on that thread about the wiring and update you all. He only modded the defrost switch to turn on the euro fog light, but maybe he can give me some info regarding the switch and defrosting circuit. Hopefully this becomes some useful information for others search for this info.

actually, hardtopguy http://www.hardtopguy.com/store/product.ph...66&cat=0&page=1
has the whole wiring conversion kit for an AP1 to make a defroster grid functional! my search is over, so it didn't take that long, but hopefully somebody else will find this useful and save them some time that i spent searching...

2nd question:
the wiring on this diagram (UK +MY04) only shows 3 switches (http://www.hondaoriginalparts.com/ho...block_03=19258)

but also, in my North American service manual, i only see 3 wires (see my screenshot)

so my question is this:
How do the heated mirrors get their power for defrosting and control, if there are the same number of wires for the heated version and non-heated version? Wouldn't there be at least one or 2 more wires for additional control signals?

Ok, I know I'm bringing a thread back from the dead here, but I've become highly interested in making this happen on my car as well now. I've thrown up a thread in the UK/Ireland section with little luck so far. Has anyone figured this out or found a proper wiring diagram for heated mirrors?
ok, just a guess because I really don't know what I'm talking about, but...
The parts diagram for a randomly chosen top-of-the-line 2005 Accord, whioh I
would imagine has heated mirrors, shows four wires leading to the connector
and one to the mirror glass, so I imagine an s2000 with heated mirrors would
be similar.

This thread has the schematic for the heated mirrors (post #4). The mod is a bit involved. You will need to source non-US (EU/UK) wing mirrors that include the heating elements. The EU/UK wing mirrors with heating elements use a 5 pin connector versus the US 3 pin connector. Furthermore, the connector is female versus male. This mod will involve modification to the US mirror connectors, addition of a dedicated heated mirror relay, and new wiring to connect the mirror heating elements and relay to control and power per the linked schematic.
