help i dont get it!
i bought my s2k about 6 months ago and i noticed some sort of jammer or detector mounted on the top side of the front bumper in the radiator hole.
there is two sensor. and a there is a light mounted where the stereo controls are on the left.
its only worked once. the light is always green until it finds something and then it turns red and makes a loud beeping sound
lately its on all the time. i turn on the car and it does its usual check and noises to let me know its on and then it turns on and stays on after 15 minutes of driving.
i am about to rip it out and see what what i can do i was thinkiing maybe someone would know anything. i need to know what it is and how stop the annoyance.

It would be helpful to know if there are any buttons on the dash or a brand name to go by, also, if you have any records, find out who the installer was.
It is most likely a radar/laser detector, and it seems to be either experiencing interference (fairly likely), or it needs to be serviced (mine has a service beep, so it's possible), or a cop lives across the street and left his radar unit on (not very likely). Try to check if it has a sensitivity adjustment, and turn it down a notch, see if that fixes it. If it is damaged, or needs service, take it to the installer or to a professional car audio store, they can probably determine what the problem is and correct it.
You would do well in finding out how to fix it, these hardwired units tend to cost over $1000, and are a valuable investment. As long as it's legal in your state, you should try to hold onto it, it can save you from several speeding tickets.
