Default HELP ME IMA NEWB

hey guys .. kind off topic a little bit but id appreciate any input .. i have my sub [ sony xplod 600 w ] and 600 w mosfet amp that was in my old mustang ... the stock speakers were 1000 watts in that tho ... my car now is a wrx and the speakers are a pathetic 130 watts .. my friend who works on cars says for 60 $ hell give me the wiring kit , hi low adapter and professional installation .. i think normally its like 125-150 for all that but hes my question ..

i know the sub isnt nothin serious but it does bump hard ... i asked wont this setup be a waste of money puttin in unless i get better speakers? he said the hi/lo adapter will take the bass out of ur speakers so ur sound clarity will be little louder and more clear while the bass only comes from the sub ?

SO is he tellin the truth? i dont even wana spend 60 $ bc i want to get new speakers but he saying wit the hi low adapter it sound sound pretty decent even with the stock crap speakers

I know a face will improve it tons but im not lookin to spend money on audio .. its jus that i payed for this amp n sub 2 years ago and figured for this deal my friend is giveing it mite be worth it

Okay so your installing a Sub and an amp for the Sub right? No amp for the highs?

The High/Low is going to be for the Sub Amp, it's not going to take the bass out. I don't know why he told you that.. If you factory speakers already sound bad, and you don't add an amp to those then they will sound worse when you add a sub. You will get mostly Bass.

You need the hi/lo to hook an amp up to your factory radio. its called a line out converter. I dont understand what bass you are trying to take out. Your adding a sub and amping it, not the front speakers. Front speakers are going to sound the same. BTW a crossover is what filters out frequencies.

ok now here is my question ... these stock speakers are really garbage ... is it worth payin to install the amp and sub without a custom deck or it still going to sound bad with it?

im tryna find out if the sound is gunna be the too bassy or what ever. Im dont want to pay money if the sound is just going to sound bassy bc the speakers are so weak
