Default Help my Design my new audio system!

So I have a 2010 Genesis coupe on order. Hopefully it gets here soon. Anyway it's the base model, and I was sure I was going to upgrade the stereo so I opted to not pay extra for the infinity stereo.

I have some leftover stuff from other cars, and would like to re-use some of it.

I want nice, clear crisp sound, that can be turned pretty high without distortion and without blowing my speakers!! I had a jl 12w7 and an amp i traded for a brand new clarion double din head unit, because I don't want to go the direction of super loud bass in this car.

So here is what I have:
-Clarion MAX385vd double din. I'm going to add the ipod interface wire, because that's what I listen to 99% of the time. I hate fm radio around here, and xm does not have that many channels that I like. I'm into house/electronic music.
-Infinity kappa 693.5i 6x9's
-MB quart PCE 213 5.25" components
-Hi fonics 440 watt 4ch amp
-Phoenix gold octane 8.0.4 4 ch amp
-zapco studio 300.x sub amp

So the MB quart speakers sounded good when I first got them, but when using them with my hifonics amp they eventually blew. One of the rubber surrounds ripped on my midwoofer, and the other makes a popping noise when it tries to reproduce bass.

I'm pretty set on getting rid of both 4 channel amps, because I'm positive I can do better. I was looking into a nice compact alpine pdx 4.100, but then came across the kenwood x4r for a little bit less $$.

Here's what I'm thinking, but still open to suggestions:

Use the clarion head unit (is the sound okay from this? I just traded it, didn't purchase it...)
use the infinity 6x9's for the rear speakers, keep the gain down (I know most say focus on front stage, but I like full car sound, and I have them, so I don't think it will hurt)
Use the tweeters and crossovers from the MB quart components.

I would like some 6.5" midwoofers for the doors to be used with the mentioned crossovers/tweets. What do you guys recommend?
What amp? Like I said, i would like something small and compact, but yet powerful and not dull sounding. either a pdx 4.100, 4.150, x4r etc??
And I still haven't decided on sub and sub amp. I always like jl stuff for subs and sub amps, but don't want to kill the budget i'm on. Either way, the sub and sub amp can be added later, i will wire for them to make it easy.

Maybe a single 12" in a small sealed box with the zapco amp?

Also, wires? Do I need 2 or 0/1 gauge? Or is 4 okay? What RCA's do you guys recommend?
And dynamat? I will most likely do the doors and some interior panels, but do not want to do the whole car, i think its pretty solid from the factory, its not a 97 civic like i'm used to

Why not a 5 channel amp like 100x4 + 300x1? with a 10/12w3

4 gauge is fine for most systems, over 1000w I would probably do 2 or 0 since it doesnt cost much more

Most 5ch amps are pretty large, i was going for a stealthy install and like the size of the pdx/x4r amps. It could be a possibility thou.

the alpine pdx-5 isn't that large I'm probably getting one for myself you'd be surprised they really made these amps small its nothing like the soundstream 5 channel I had 10 years ago that thing was a beast

EDIT: ehhh i just checked the specs. i was looking for something more than 75 watts per channel.

im pretty sure it's more power to the fronts than the rears, which is fine, but that amp is huge. i love jl amps, i was just looking for something that won't take up a ton of room and won't break the bank.

No, he's talking about the JL HD900/5. It's roughly the same size as a PDX.
