newbie on audio system, need help

Default newbie on audio system, need help

like the title said, i am new to this audio stuff, so i need you guys help, i am thinking about changing my headunit and component speaker only, no amp or sub. i talked to a guy who own a audio shop, he recommended a diamond audio s600 series. what you guys think. and by the way, my budget is only $800

Component speakers won't get clear enough at listening volumes without an external amp...

And $800 can get you *a lot* of audio...$250 on a Kenwood/Eclipse/Pioneer/Clarion MP3 deck, $300 on Adire/Focal/CDT components, and $150 on a JBL/Hifonics amp

I agree with Bomberman......

The s600's are wonderful speakers, but will sound ok at best without external amplification. Get a HU, the s600's and an amp, you wont regret it.
