Default Help an old fellow out with speakers?

I'm getting ready to order a set of S-Pods for my MY04 and could use some help with speaker choices. I'll be installing these things myself, so my main concerns are fitment and ease of install. I don't care about having an audiophile quality level system, I just want something my tired old ears can hear with the top down.
I'm going to be keeping the stock head unit for the time being, but I'm also considering upgrading the stock speakers with a set of Kenwood xr601's from Lucid. I generally listen to Classic Rock, and I have no real interest in a subwoofer, separate amp, dealing with cross-overs, or anything too complex. Are there any coax speakers available that will just drop into the "stock" S-Pods without any mods required, or a set of components that can be installed very easily by a senile, half deaf and blind, old f*rt?

You'll need an amp to hear the speakers with the top down!

Thanks! I know nothing about speaker specs, so would you recommend a specific model number, and steer me to a good online source for buying them?

I wouldn't put those Kenwoods coaxle speakers in the S. I have a set of Kennwood ..603 component installed in my S and there is just too much high for my taste. The speakers you mentioned is at least over $100/pr. For the price, get the Pioneer TS-C1653 6-1/2" Component Speaker Package from Etronics.com for $89. I think it will sound a lot better and you will probably need a small amp to power the components.

Can the S-pods fit a 6 1/2" speaker?
