Default HELP!! Trailer / Hitch wiring

I bought a wiring harness that requires me to splice into the wiring for my taillights for my new auto-x trailer.

Can someone give some advice or point me to a "How-to" link?

Thanks,
Don

Yes, that is not a problem.

My problem is that I don't know where in the trunk is the easiest place to access the wires and which wires to use.

neither do i right now... if someone else doesn't pipe up with actual experience, i'll dig through my helms and find you the info.

you might also want to post something in the race/track forum, as i think a lot of those guys have added track trailers and may have info on how to do it.

btw - did you want splicing suggestions/instructions? or were you mainly concerned w/ which wires and where?

I installed mine in the drivers side of the trunk directly behind the taillight. That's where all but the Right Signal wires are. The right signal should have a longer wire though on the adapter to run across the trunk to the other taillight. If you have a multimeter, you should be able to easily figure out which wire does what and what the adapter is looking for. I could give you specific wire colors later this afternoon/evening if you want. I just don't have any pictures or wiring diagrams of that area. Did you buy the kit from U-Haul?

I would appreciate the wire colors.

I bought a generic Honda adapter made by Hoppy, product #: 46255.

here is some wiring info for you. These wires are in the front of car but may be the same color in the rear as well at the bulbs.DIRECTWIRE
