Help with Tweeter Install (Polk MMC6500)
first....i got a 2002 s2k
I just purchased the Polk MMC6500 and while trying to install the tweeter ran into some problems.
Maybe some MMC6500 users can chime in
First pic shows how it comes, basically with its on tweeter pod

Second pic shows how its mounted and glued in there.

Ive tried to mount them with the pod which was too big.
Ive read the install FAQs and it never mentioned anything about aftermarket tweeters coming with its own pod. Im kinda scared to try to break the Polk tweeter pod and damaging the tweeter.
Anyone have any suggestions?

Use a dremel, carefully dremel away just a little on each side so it fits the stock mounting posts. If I get a chance, I'll take my door panels off and get pics of mine so you can see what I'm talking about. The outside plastic bit is okay to be dremeled, but I wouldn't try taking it all the way apart.
Cheers!

Correct me if Im wrong, but the pic is the base tweeter itself, which can be snapped into the surface/flush and angle mounts? This allows the user to swivel the tweeter inside each respective mounting cup. Did you get these new? If not you are missing the mounting pods/cups.
Polk uses a compression type fit, which allows you to swivel the tweeter for aiming purposes.

Glad to see it worked out for the OP
