Default Pics of 2000-2001 Tweeter Install

I have spent about 2 hours looking for the page that I know I have seen before. I am looking for the tweeter install that uses a bracket screwed to the cup behind the door latch release.

My Pold db6500s are on their way and I am trying to decide how to install them so I have a plan when they get here.

I am a little bigger than the average bear and have been very annoyed with my right-biased imaging. I want to put the tweeter up a little higher so it will not be blocked by my leg. I would like to move the woofer but am not into reinventing the wheel. I have an 01, so tweeter is going to be custom, no matter what I do.

Thanks,
Rad

You should think about mounting them under the a pillars, such that sound can reflect off of the windshield and fill the cabin. I have seen a pic of that before on this forum. You put some holes in the pillar base to let sound in. I am sure there are naysayers regarding the imaging, but no solution short of coaxial will be great(and coax gets blocked by leg)imaging. If you can't find the pic by search, I could take a picture of mine (with the same db6500s) and post it. However, I didn't do a very good job of cutting holes in the pillar and am too lazy to go outside right now. good luck.

I had mine under the A-pillars, and they were just too muffled. You would almost have to cut out a section and cover it in speaker screen to make it work really well. You should be able to take the difference out if your HU has a time correction setting. If you do the calculations correctly, it should take almost all differences out.

I had mine redone about a week and a half ago. They JUST got finished today.

Here is what Darkknight1999 just completed for me.....

They ship out monday. I cant wait to hear what they sound like!

Thanks for the props John

Rad, if you're interested in having this done just let me know.

Here's some other pictures of tweeters I've molded into the A-Pillers:

These are John's:
