Default Help w Viper alarm system problems

Just recently my alarm doesnt seem to want to arm or disarm on the first try. I have to push the arm button maybe 10 times to get it to arm... when it doesnt arm it beeps back at me sayin like its out of range. If i try to open the trunk from the remote it works every time though. There are new batteries in the remote. Any suggestions?

Try different batteries again? Do youhave other fobs that you can try? Maybe the cpu needs to relearn the fob? How old is your car battery? Maybe its getting weak with age?

perhaps you have a loose connection for the ground/power for the doorlocks.

The trunk pop works because it runs off its own relay (similar to the door lock relay) which has its own powersource and ground.

Tried several batteries. Only have one remote. The car battery is 2 years old and starts the car fine. I wouldnt have a loose connection because the alarm doesnt even arm... or even communicate with the remote..

Which Viper system? Theres usually a delay with the lock and unlock, push it and wait a second. Trunk pops everythime cause your holding the button down.

Its either the remote or alarm antenna. Most likely remote. They dont last that long.

If you're resigned to a new remote, try taking apart your current one and look for any corrosion on the battery leads. Even if you don't see any, try rubbing the cntacts and battery and apply a little wd-40. I had an Alpine fob that I had to keep WD-40'd internally to keep corrosion from building up and making my fob work intermittently.

i took the remote apart... found out that there is a 3 pin connector that broke at the solder points.. i just resoldered the connections and it works perfect. Thank everyone for narrowing it down to the remote.
