Looking for suggestions for a new sound system, on that budget give or take a bit. Defend your selections or just make them, whatever works for you.

Thanks in advance

I think my audio build is close to that much

Alpine CDA105 + Modifry DCI
Polk DB6501 powered by deck + KTP-445
Arc Audio mini KS125.2 mini (fits under passenger seat) + passenger footwell sub (made by 2big4as2000)

It's just the stock sound currently.

Are you more interested in SQ or just something better than stock? How important is a subwoofer to you? How good are you with electronics/programming VCRs?
SQ is nice, but honestly I am just looking for something that's a step up from stock in all areas - doesn't have to be mind blowing quality or anything. Woofer is important, enough that the budget could be a bit flexible at the high end to make that happen. Doesn't have to take over the entire trunk, one or two of the side enclosures would be fine as long as they are audible. I am not great with electronics, but I know some folks who can help with the install once I've settled on the pieces.

Let me know if any other questions pop to mind... thanks for the replies.

for the speakers, I would recommend these component speakers:
Massive Audio CK6 - $175

these are what I run and they are way better than anything even close to them in the price range imo

A grand won't go as far as you'd think but here is what i would do:

Alpine headunit with imprint
JL c5 component speakers
JL 75x2 amp (slash series b/c of price)
wiring kit for the amp (knuconcepts of kicker, something that's not cca)
and some sound deadener

That is what i would personally do, i'm a huge fan of alpine and JL audio. I have c5's all around in my truck and a w505 on imprint and WOW, it's night and day with just the imprint alone turned on and off.

Hadn't seen your reply, but this is almost what I had come up with over the past week. Thanks for the feedback
