ahh... point taken. yeah, cabling will kill you, especially if you do it nice. i know i spend right at $100 on the cabling for my X-box as well... (S-video and Toslink using the Monster Cable setup...)

lol... and don't get me started w/ all the cabling i have elsewhere for component inputs, S-video, Toslink, coax digital, traditional interconnects, etc...

sheesh... but does it sound sweet? oh yeah.

but, for the record, you don't need an extra adapter for the PS2 like you need for the Xbox.. i think it has a natively supported Toslink out the back. w/ the Klipsch setup, you could still land under $350 w/ some careful shopping.

unless you're talking about setting up a small apartment type living room or a dorm room... i'd just save the $350 and get a decent system over time...

You can hit Best buy type of stores now for the after x-mas open box buy frenzy that should happen after this weekend Open box buys rule!! You can get some great stuff for a big discount because of the time of year it is.

If I was only spending $350, I think I would personally save my money. This is the cheapest system that I would go.

The Kenwood system, above, is available at BJ's for $250. Pretty good reviews for the price.

Samsungs got a pretty decent HTIB for $199.99 at bestbuy. Granted this can't be a primary unit but I can't imagine it will be all that bad for a bedroom. I'm actually looking to get some cheapy $100 HTIB by APW for my BR. Who really needs audiophile level quality for a bedroom?

Sounds like some of you guys have some nice theaters. Home Theater is my "other" hobby too. I would recommend that you invest in a decent low priced receiver such as those from Sony, Onkyo, and Kenwood and some a pair of decent stereo speakers such as the JBL N series at best buy. This will give you decent stereo sound for now (a big improvement over TV speakers) and will allow you to grow in the future. Try not to get too hooked, this hobby can be more expensive than the S.

Here are some pics of my HT. Does anyone else have any pics. http://www.geocities.com/jerryiii_ht/

I actually decided against it. Looking in to springs/intake/ and maybe even rims instead. Thanks though.
