How did you run the wires for the speakers?
I am about to install an Alpine 7894 HU and want to pre-run the wires for rear speakers. Did you run it under the carpet? in the center console tunnel? I have Rick's console cover, will it complicate things?
Thanks,
Silvio

I ran wires for my Bass Shakers in the seats, and those are under the carpet along the footwells and the sides of the car. There are already wire runners along the sides (well, at least the driver's side had them, can't remember about the passenger side) that you can slip the wire into.

From Parking Brake to HeadUnit:
Under the center console there is a 2 wire looms running down the left side (Driver). The right side has the same change design. I just loomed the wire, and fished it up the right side (around the Gear Stick). I had to move a loomed set on the ECU under the Head unit to get them out from under the ECU/ I used long nose pliers to catch the wire/loom and pull it up. Once it was done, it looks factory.
From Parking Brake to Rears
You will see how they fished a set of loomed wires down the left side. Well guess what, there is a free space just like it. I just pulled the Glovebox up slightly by hand, and fish them back (round the left). With both of the rears off, I could reach in and get them.
I hope this helps.
I just installed the same unit. (CDA-7894) No if I can only get the MP3 disks to burn properly.
Oh, have you thought about how you are going to wire the power to the battery? The 7894 has a 14 gauge wire (Yellow) that should be connected directly to the battery. If you are looking for something to save time during the install, do this part.
Just a tip too:
I used a coathanger for pulling fresh wire through the firewall (power wire) and front doors (speaker wire). Put some petroleum jelly on it and its a snap running those wires.

Thanks for the suggestions.
I was running late, finished at 2am, so I ran the wires under the sides of Rick's console cover. If I can find a way to secure them (more sticky tape?) I'll leave 'em there.
The sound is greatly improved with the 7894. I have Alpine 1629 in the doors which I installed 2 years ago...
Jshahan, I burned my first MP3 disk and it works and sounds great. I used :
EAC (Exact Audio Copy) to rip http://www.exactaudiocopy.de/
LAME 3.92 (vbr 192, --alt-preset standard) to compress http://home.pi.be/~mk442837/
MP3BR to create the CD image (order the tracks and folders, check tags) http://www.microft.com.br/
Easy CD Creator to burn
The first 2 are freeware, MP3BR is shareware and the last came with my cd-writer.
EAC is a new audio grabber for CD-ROM drives. The main differences towards most other audio grabbers :
Low registration costs (just a postcard and a stamp)
It works with a new technology, reading audio CDs almost perfectly. If there are any errors that can't be corrected, it will tell you on which time position the (possible) distortion occurred, so you could easily control it with e.g. the media player
One important point about burning is to not use 'packet writing' or 'track at once' and to use filesystem ISO9660.
