Default how difficult is it going to be to install Pioneer TS-C172PRS Components?

Hi all,

HELP NEEDED !!!

I am doing a sound upgraded to my 00 AP1 and like most need assistance. I came across a great deal with a few pioneer products and went out and bought these...

Head Unit - Pioneer DEX-P99RS
Amp - GMD-9500F
Component Speakers - TS-C172PRS
Slimline Sub - TS-WX110A

and will be using monster cable for wiring.

I am not expert at all in car installs in fact this will be my first one (with help from a friend who used to work at a custom car place), i have worked out how i want to install/mount the tweeters into the 00 door panels and that seemed easy enough with a bit of research. Everything seems that it will fit into the car fine aside from the components which are 17cm . Below is a link to the speakers.

I have done a fair bit of reading and the answers vary from post to post with regard to fitment of 6 3/4" speakers. the main issue being the bottom mounting depth?

could someone with a bit more experience than me please help me out with regard to how to fit these or will i need to return them and look for an alternative?

Thank you in advance!!

James

They will fit but you'll need a spacer. You can make them from MDF. Just be sure to waterproof them

Thanks John

got your message before much appreciated. hopefully the install is not too much of a hassle, a mate with a who worked at a custom car audio place will be doing it anyway so i can just kick back

also, the 04 tweeter pods will fit flush in the older ap1 door panels i presume? i plan to install the pods into the doors and then mount the tweeter in front or behind them so they fit flush
