Default How do you bridge PPI 450 Amplifier?

I've read the instructions and followed it by using the L+, R- method for the front and the rear, with my RCAs plugged into the front source. Still, I'm not able to get the bridging to work correctly. There is only sound on 1 side when I do this.

Does anybody else have experience with this? Thanks.

I'm assuming you're trying to use this 4 channel amp as a 2 channel?

2 front channels bridge to run left speaker
2 rear channels bridge to run right speaker

Sounds like the front RCA input is only being routed to the front speaker outputs, which are bridged to only 1 of your two speakers. You have a few options.

If the 450 is like other PPI amps (I have the 480), there are several switches that allow you to select input/output paths. The proper combination will allow the front RCA input source to be used for all speaker outputs. Check your manual, or download a copy from the PPI website.

If that doesn't help, get some Y cables and split your RCAs so that you're connecting to both front and rear RCA inputs at the amplifier.

Ya...I'm trying to use it at a 2-channel...i don't know if that will work tho.

I checked the manual...and the only thing that might possibly do that is the "combine" button.

I'm just curious if this is even possible. I will try to take it to a local PPI dealer and see if they can do something with it.

THanks for the help.

My blaupunkt requires me to plug one RCA into one of the 'front' inputs and the other into the 'rear' input. I'm running: Right speaker off of the 'front' speaker pair -- RCA into Front Right input jack. Left speaker off of the 'rear' speaker pair -- RCA into the Left Rear input jack. You might try that arrangement if you don't have any luck with the combine button.

I'll give that a try and see if it works. Thanks!
