Default how to get Doors to Unlock with ignition ?/Prob

Hi, I'm new to the S2000, I have a new 2008. Love the car.

It use too when I turned the ignition off that both doors would unlock. This no longer happens and it stopped working after an Alarm install.

Both doors do lock when I turn the key on, if there closed. also unlock fine with the keyless

The Alarm is an Omega AL-100F and piggy backs to the existing OEM alarm. So I keep the oem keyfobs

The guy that installed the alarm said he didn't cut anything, he just tapped into the wires.... He don't know why that happened but I am taking the car back for him again to try and fix the prob, but in the mean time....

Is the door unlock thing a programmable feature of the oem alarm or the keyless entry or is the new alarm to blame?

And I called a few Honda dealers and some say it doesn't have that option and others just say look in the owners mann.. witch I did and didn't see anything..

Can anyone help?

Well I don't know if this will shed light on anything, but my CompuStar alarms (on other vehicles, including 1 Honda Civic) added that feature to the vehicle. The alarm sensed when I started and shut down the car and locked and unlocked at the right times for me.

I suspect the Omega does not have this functionality but had overridden the factory alarm so you it no longer does this for you. That's my only guess.

No doubt there is some sort of optional alarm module that could do this for you since they have everything else including window roll-up and down modules.

i think it may be because its a piggy back unit. I know when i installed my viper into my my01 it unlocked both doors when i turned the vehicle off and also locked after the vehicle has started.

Im not familiar with your unit of alarm because i only install DEI products, but its just probably because of the unit. but its kind of weird if it used to do it from factory and now it wont.....

Locking and unlocking doors from the ignition is an option on most alarms, I have an OEM alarm on my05 and it doesn't have that option, neither does my05 Pilot, but my OEM alarm on my 07 IS does.

Override sounds like the problem as said before. The guy that hooked up the alarm should be able to fix it. Honda Sub-Contracts out their Alarm installs therefore does not know about them.

Well, I know that the Omega Alarm has the ability to unlock and lock the doors with the ignition. But that feature was not connected because the car did this before the Omega Alarm....

I did get a little info about the OEM Honda Alarm; there is a manual switch on it that changes the function of the locks. However I don't know where this is located. It's not under the driver seat.

Maybe the guy that installed the Omega somehow changed this? I don't know, I haven't been able to ask yet.

It took awhile to figure out, but it turned out to be a simple fix. A loose wire going to the factory keyless entry box from the OEM alarm.

So the omega alarm that was added was not directly the problem.

All is well now.

Thanks for the replies

I'm not sure when they added that feature, because my 2006 doesn't have it from the factory either. My Compustar alarm takes care of that though.

My MY04 has no auto lock/unlock features. I hate those things anyway.
