While I know that Panasonic isn't one of the better HU's on the market, I have the oppty to get a good deal on one. I can get either the CQ-HX1083U http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/S-jB9U2...a=1&cc=01&avf=Y or the CQ-DFX983U http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/S-jB9U2...a=1&cc=01&avf=Y for $224 brand new (and legally).

They both sell on Crutchfields web site for $350.

Does anyone know anything about these units?

Not what I'd choose, but between the two of them, I'd go with the CQ-DFX983U. It looks like it has a better display and I think the other stereo would get old after a while. It would be covered with finger prints and I think with the top down and the sun glaring on it, visibility may be a little difficult to deal with... I know that I've had that problem with the glossy screens on Kenwoods.
