^ what does the high beam have to do with his cruise control not working?
I was responding to the turn signal problem. If the highbeam indicator doesnt turn on, that means the cluster is not connected.

iirc, i believe the other comments are correct, the dash cruise light won't light up unless you're actually driving and set a speed.

btw -- you want some fun random entertainment? find a long empty stretch of road and set the cruise control @ 30-35 mph in 1st gear -- then HOLD ON!

yup -- i did call you John. email returned.

also, this is what happens. the throttle response of the car is much quicker in responding than the cruise control system. so, it ends up like you're riding a bucking bronco. if you set it at 35, it will hammer you up to redline, then yank back down to 20, then back up to 40, then back to 20.... and it does this within about a second or so. it's quite funny actually. it can never quite find and settle at 35.

i had a controls class where we spent a lot of time discussing leading and lagging controls system. in 1st gear, it's definitely a lagging system.

i'd highly advise you to do this on a straight, as turning becomes just about impossible....

^lol, sounds funny

to the OP: everything is fixed, you just have to be driving and set the cruise control for the dash light to light up

I think the problem was I wasn't going fast enough when I was trying to turn it on. Whatever the problem was, it is working now. Thanks for all of your suggestions.
