I THINK that's the hardtop switch. If the hardtop is on, it disconnects the roof switch.
Other than that, to me it looks like a grounding bolt?
Where is the panel from? And where do the wires lead to?

Mounted on driver side behind door on the roof brush cable leads to the front

I agree with Stupkid. Looks like a ground bolt. You can unbolt it and see what doesn't work.
